AI alone won’t make your business profitable

Where They Meet: A thought for everyone

Success comes from better decisions, not bigger dreams.

Industry advocates have frequently suggested that implementing AI is an automatic shortcut to sustainable success, providing better forecasting, less waste and smarter operations. Yet many organisations are struggling to realise any ROI. In our experience, the difference between successful and wasteful projects is a clear objective. This isn’t Field of Dreams – if you build it, success doesn’t automatically come. You have to start by knowing what you are trying to achieve, not just implement AI and hope for the best.

To identify where you can deliver actual benefits, you have to have an idea of where better or more timely information could actually deliver a better outcome for your organisation. If you can find an opportunity to  change how you work for the better, you may have unlocked your route to using AI more successfully.

Something to try: Identify an existing objective and trace the decisions behind it. Then ask whether using AI could improve those decisions safely, clearly and measurably.
